5th SASCI Meeting

The Fifth Annual Meeting of the Saudi Arabian Section of the Combustion Institute (SASCI) was collectively organized by Saudi Aramco and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and held at KACST from May 3 to 4, 2015. The theme for this year’s meeting was ‘Fundamental and Applied Combustion Research for Sustainable Energy Systems’.
The event brought together more than 70 researchers from various institutions in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. This is the first time the event was held over two days. In it’s short history, the combustion institute has grown in both size and stature.
With more than 80 registered members within the Kingdom, the Annual Meetings have also been attracting an increasing number of international researchers with each passing year. Our 2015 submissions also feature co-authors from research groups based in India, Ireland, Japan, Germany, Korea, France, and the United Kingdom.
The meeting featured two invited lectures, 36 oral presentations across four different technical sessions and 26 poster presentations.
